Wear Local: Anthologie PH

I've always been a fan of scarves, three fourth sleeves, button downs,  plain and plaids and everything nice until one local shop provided all of these. Guess what? The shop doesn't only provide your fashion needs but it is definitely a shop with a cause. The brand as well as the purpose is very Filipino.

Aside from patronizing locally made products from Anthologie PH, you get the chance to help fellow Filipinos through the shop's purpose. For every scarf or piece of clothing that you're going to buy, part of its sales goes to indigenous people in the coast of Ilagan, Isabela.

Anthologie's set of scarves were made of cotton with unique and amazing designs and they are using quality clothing to finish not only scarves but might as well tunic tops and button downs. Another thing that captures the heart of consumers where the sense of style being delivered by Anthologie PH which is very classic and sophisticated yet remains to be simple, fresh and natural.

Anthologie PH showcases outstanding and unique fashion that is simple, comfortable and is Filipino Made. It also represents an approach to design, sourcing and manufacture of clothing that maximizes benefits to people and communities and at the same time minimizing impact to the environment. Anthologie PH, undeniably stands out and was able to develop a unique identity and value proposition through branding in congruence with quality products. Another plus point that one should find in certain brand is the passion and consistency, which is obviously present with Anthologie PH. The products (tunics, buttondowns, scarfs) hold a promising edge and spot that is about to break New grounds not only in the Philippines but also in the international arena of fashion and design industry.

Why the "Phenomenal Dubsmash Icon" Rocks?

A lot of people may not know what "Dubsmash" means but when they hear the word, only one person automatically comes into their mind. It's no other than Maine Mendoza a.k.a. "Yaya Dub"

If it's all about breaking through, well, Maine Mendoza really made it by being an internet/social media sensation. Who would have thought of finding a precious gem out of dubsmash. Eat Bulaga must have really been blessed to find Maine. It's quite obvious and undeniable that Maine is definitely one of the fastest rising star in Philippine Television. Her career rises as fast as a whirlwind having a line up of different commercials and endorsements.

"Yaya Dub" instantly gained followers on her social media account and her segment has always been something to look forward to everyday. Even for a fact that she doesn't talk throughout the segment but just do dubbing and writing on a fan sign.

And honestly, Maine is a rolled into one complete package. She definitely has the looks,in fact, she has a very expressive eyes and captivating and contagious smile. She also has the right attitude and mindset, she has the talent (she can act, she can sing, she can dance and she can make people laugh through her witty antics and down to earth attitude) and if you' ll be able to browse her social media accounts and go through her blog, she is undeniably smart. Maine also has this "beauty queen" features and I wouldn't be surprised in the near future if she would take that particular path.

Maine is one of the persons who obviously brought life to Philippine television. Her expressions are genuine and organic. This girl right here is very transparent and a "what you see is what you get" type of  person. She has captured not only the attention of viewers but also the hearts of the mass people.

If she became popular and well-known by her tag name "Yaya Dub", well then, she is definitely the prettiest yaya in town. This Kapuso star is a one in a million diamond packed with a lot more to offer. From what corner of the universe could we find a person being admired by many just by dubbing and doing her face warping expressions. How much more if we can regularly hear her angelic voice and see her smile more often.

I recently heard her version of "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran and seriously, she nailed it and I can't even wait for the time to come that she'll have her own album. From dubsmash, to noontime shows to commercials, to concert, to MMFF movie all the way to her own album and more to come. Why not? Right?

EVEN THE QUEENS DOUBLED THE EFFORT

Our Filipina Beauty Queens namely Pia Wurtzbach and Mary Jean Lastimosa were the perfect examples of "perseverance" & "try and try until you succeed attitude"

These beauty queens didn't just woke up with the crown on their head. As persevering as other people, both of them worked hard to get it, not once, not twice but thrice.

Pia Wurtzbach finally won the Binibining Pilipinas 2015 as Miss Universe Philippines 2015 on her third attempt. And just "wow" she is definitely a living example of not letting anything or anyone stop you from reaching your dreams/goal.

She started competing at Binibing Pilipinas since 2013 wherein she became the 1st runner up. And she again competed the following year which is 2014 but unable to make it to the finals.

Same with Pia Wurtzbach, MJ had the crown on her third attempt. She started competing in Binibining Pilipinas since 2011 wherein she placed 2nd runner up and the following year which is 2012, she again attempted to own the crown, however she wasn't able to make it up to the finals. Last 2014, she was able to be crowned as the Binibining Pilipinas 2014 and competed for Miss Universe title.

Who would have thought that they are not only beauty and brains but they are packed with so much fighting spirit and the never give up attitude.

With their story reaching their dream and reaching for the crown, I have come to realize that all sorts of people should strive harder, be more persevering, double the effort and want it enough in order to have what they are aspiring for, because not all things could be achieve overnight. Everything worth having deserves a lot of trials and efforts and at some point, heartbreaks, I guess.

Its just that, something worth having that is definitely made in heaven won't be given to you without you, as a person exerting and giving too much in order to have it.

Giving up is very tempting and common and these beauty queens have shown us how temporary a failure is. And these failures were opportunities to begin again and reach for what you are aspiring. You just got to pick yourself up, take a deep breath, move forward and try again. And at this point, our beauty queen really did not experience failure but a step by step process into winning the crown. Because for me, failure happens when you stop trying. In this matter, winners are those who unfortunately did not win the battle but  courageous enough to stand up and give it another shot.

The harder the struggle, the more glorious the triumph, and that's how their story goes.
