Have you ever tried hearing a song of piano ballad with soul origin from a RnB singer?
Here comes a new cover of our very own Mr. Johann Mendoza from the British singer and songwriter, Adele, whom I consider as one of the major "hugot" (pulled from the heartstring) singers of this generation.
Seriously, when I first saw the link, I had no idea what would be the song but I'm 101% sure that this will surely hit infinite views. Upon hearing few of the first lines, gee! I knew it was the latest song from Adele and honest to goodness, this is definitely the best version of the song that I've heard so far.
One of the rare abilities of an artist is to make your own version more unique and more pleasing to listeners, and this is the first time that I did finish the whole song. I'm not saying that Adele weren't able to make it more heartbreaking or relatable. Of course she did, because she already has this brand of coming up with a heartbreaking piece but the whistle alert guy version of the song is A+ and definitely awesome.
And in my own opinion, the lyrics would be more fitted to be sung by a guy but Adele has her own unique way of breaking several records.
The cover of Johann was able to retain the original theme of the song which is mainly nostalgia and regret but Johann, also has his own way of making his listeners appreciate his version, different from the original.
Additionally, I love how Adele come up with the lyrics and vocals and this is definitely fitted for a make-up record at 25.
And for the listeners and viewers, Filipinos definitely has something to be proud of, which is not only the talent that Filipinos has to offer, but also the talented individuals themselves like Johann who continues to inspire other artists and at the same time brings out the best in arts and music.
Kudos both for Adele and Johann, who were definitely masters of their own craft!

When we talk about pinoy music, the first thing that comes into my mind is pinoy love songs, ballad songs and the like. However, let us not forget the genre of Francis M., Gloc-9 and the genre where Andrew E. started.
I was introduced to a music video entitled "Adobo" by Kenjohn Serrano or Kenjhons for short, a few days before I wrote this entry and it took me quite some time to listen to his craft.
When I first heard his voice, I initially thought that I was like listening to a Filipino version of Eminem or Ron Henley. His voice as well as skill is different from the usual pinoy hip hop artists that I have heard. Kenjhons has a unique style and could possibly pave its way in the international arena. Given the right opportunity, he could effortlessly perform as good or better than Jay-Z, Tupac and other international hip hop artists.
Well, we got it all here in the Philippines!
Kenjhons is a solo R&B/hip hop artist, who just released his first solo album entitled "Matinik" under Viva Records.
Before reading this entry, I wanted you guys to pause/stop the music playlist being automatically played here at the upper left area of my blog.
We have here a new cover from Johann Mendoza together with his former band mates, Ryan Daguiso and Pierre Paolo Banaga, from K 24/7, which was originally sung by Bryan White and suddenly become viral because of the "Aldub" tandem entitled "God Gave Me You".
Whenever I hear the song, the phenomenal love team comes into my mind first, however, this group of talented guys here made the song more unique and more romantic to listen to, as they bring a different twist with the notes and harmony.
Moreover, the video was also crafted and edited genuinely with so much love because the video includes faces of special people who served as a blessing to others.
Bryan White will surely look for these guys once he hears the cover of his song, because they honestly gave justice and made it more fascinating and mushy to listen to, because of the one of a kind blending and harmony.
When you try to listen with their version of "God Gave Me You" with eyes close in a peaceful environment, you'll definitely feel serenity and a life filled with positive outlook.

Have you ever encountered someone who would probably make you feel incredibly amazed just by hearing his voice?
Well, you might have already heard this guy at some point in time but let me introduce to you one of my favorite singers from my favorite band which is "Voices of 5".
Just by the title of my blog post, you already have a "hint" how this guy makes people draw themselves closer just to listen to his "one of a kind, magnificent, entirely amazing, incredible, stunning, extraordinary, quintessential, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, golden voice". I really don't know how am I going to describe it but the range of his voice is really amazing and as incredibly good as any other singers, he also deserves a spot in the music industry.
"Sol" was a member of Voices of 5 and former lead vocalist of Southborder and Mulatto and has competed in Pilipinas Got Talent.
I always tell this guy that he has the best version of "Kahit Kailan" and "Love on Top". You'll definitely agree once you hear him sing.
(video credits : Voices of 5)
He has this effortless way of hitting the notes and at the same time manages to make the crowd ask him for another set of music and the next time that you'll be hearing the word "falsetto", Sol will surely be the first person that will pop into your mind.
(video credits: Sam Evangelista)
This tall and handsome guy right here has a lot of things to share aside from music, he also has a big and pure heart and a sense of humor and he won't run out of stories and ideas to share.
Sol and Voices of 5 has a regular gig schedule every Thursday at Sage Bar Makati and every Saturday at Tony's Grill, Scout Rallos.

So I'm starting the week with a new song on my head and I'm seriously looking for the piano sheet for the exact arrangement. However, I ended up guessing the right key.
It's because Boyzone will be spending time here in Manila that I was able to come up with the idea of searching one of their songs entitled "I love the way you love me" but guess what?! I found Eric Martin's version being sung in a wedding with a different upbeat courtesy of Red Velvet Entertainment. I haven't heard the group not until I ended up with their own version of the said song. And so I did some research and found out that the group originated in Jakarta Indonesia.
It's indeed the musical arrangement that I admired most from this video performance. And one thing that I noticed was that there are few changes in terms of the lyrics when it comes to Eric Martin's version compared to the original.
Original version from Boyzone goes like:
"And I like the sound of old RnB
and you roll your eyes when I'm slightly off key
and I like the innocent way that you cry
at sappy old movies you've seen thousands of times"
While Eric Martin's version goes like:
"I like the way that you sing sweet and low
when they're playing our song on the radio
and i like the innocent way that you cry
at old time movies you've seen hundreds of time"
I was able to noticed the difference because this is my favorite part of the song, and both versions were great.
Unfortunately I cannot provide the music sheet for these version but you can download the piano sheet of the Original song by Boyzone through this link:
I've been hearing Tj's voice for quite some time now and honestly he also has a great voice and for sure you might have heard his voice somewhere too.
And today I'll be featuring here in my blog few of his covered songs.
This guy is definitely more of acoustic ballads and not to mention, he is good looking. right?
And one of my favorites from his playlist is this one which is originally from Parokya ni Edgar entitled "Wag Mo Na Sana"
Another song which has a very nice music video which was also sung by Tj is entitled "Sa Tuwina"
anyway, they just got the perfect match of lyrics with the rhythm. Bottomline: the music video could possibly make one smile and feel giddy at the same time.
Oh! And this one, you could have heard this somewhere in radios and tv commercials and this could also be the just right to perfect "harana" song.
Another heartfelt song from Tj Monterde which I love, is this one which is entitled "Ikaw at Ako"
(addendum: the singer really looks handsome in this video)
Another love song which was uniquely covered by Tj Monterde is this which was entitled "I Can Love You Like That"
You might want to be updated and follow Tj Monterde through:
I bet you guys were either quietly smiling or laughing out loud upon reading the title of this blog post, but you know, when you have tried to be entrapped in a daytime reverie, you'll probably agree with me.
But hey! I just found an OPM song that perfectly describes what I'm feeling when i get to see (ahem!) the person I like.
I first heard it on television from a korean series and I really admire Morisette Amon from the The Voice PH season 1 for being able to amazingly pull of this song entitled "Di Mapaliwanag"
I actually got a lot of hugot from the title up to the end and last note of the song. (Kfine, laugh as long and loud as you can).
If I could just press an automatic play button of this song whenever I get to see the person I admire, just like what we ideally see on movies and telenovelas right? The perfect moment wherein the rest of the people suddenly blurs out of the scene, with the perfect background song and the slow motion to fast forward kind of scenario.
"Sadya nga ba o tadhana na
Mula ng ikaw ay nakita sinta
Kislap ng 'yong mata ay nadarama
Na ikaw na nga
Na ikaw na nga"
"At sa paningin pag ikaw ay wala
Sa isip ay laging nag aalala Labis ang tuwa pag narito ka Ikaw na ba? Ikaw na ba?"
Whenever you see the person, you just can't help but to think if its actually faith that intervenes.
Whenever you look at his eyes, you just can't help but hope that somehow you are his missing piece.
And we just can't hide the universal feeling of being elated when that someone special is just around.
"Sa 'yong tabi ang puso'y 'di mapakali
Ngunit 'di mapaliwanag
'Di mapaliwanag
Pag-ibig sa iyo'y tumitindi
Ngunit 'di mapaliwanag
'Di mapaliwanag"
And honestly, the chorus is the perfect descrption of what I'm feeling when I'm with the person that I actually like, the sudden rush in breathing and heartbeat is terrible and you know, you just can't explain why it do happen, well, I can actually explain it in terms of physiology and pathophysiology but the reason behind the person being the main contributing factor of the whole pathophysiologic reaction process is exceptionally unexplainable and it is beyond what Science can actually expound on this matter.
P.S. to my most potent vasoconstrictor, if ever you were able to read this, now you know why I always "stutter" around you from the face mask up to the "what's your perfume?" scenario and question and answer renal portion.
So who among you have experienced being in a "friendzone" kind of thing.
Anyway, I just heard this song while I'm on my way heading to somewhere entitled "Whenever I call you friend" by Michael Johnson and I think this could be the perfect song to set the mood for a weekend drive following a one sided friendship love affair. Oh! Never mind the last few words.
The song writer just got the perfect set of words that probably matches a universal feeling.
With the first few lines, I just love how it was delivered. "Whenever I call you friend, I begin to think I understand, anything we are , you and I have always been.' You'll surely be thinking of a particular person and how you guys have been through with just this lines followed with a laid back rhythm and harmony. Thus, it will only just fall down into two, it could be something or nothing. am I right or am I right?
As we go through life, there will always be one person wherein you will see yourself in his/her eyes and the rest will be history. I mean, all the "whys" will be answered instantly and it will always feels like home.
Moreover, the chorus is perfect and I must say this could also be a perfect prenuptial theme song for a more vintage theme and seasonal theme.
Another heart catching and heart melting line is this: "I think about the times to come, knowin' I will be the lucky one, ever our love will last, I always want to call you friend"
If the future circumstances permit, I would definitely love to sing this out loud to whoever I will always want to call my friend in the future and the infinite days to come. It is unusual to have someone who would think about the times that will come and still be confident enough to say that he/she is the lucky one.
A lot of stories may not show us a heavenly light and a beautiful sight just like what the song is all about but it has given us a hope that there will always be someone in a form of being a friend that will give us a love that will last and will always make you feel at home in his/her life.

Have you guys heard the new cover from our very own Johann Mendoza?
"it's been a long day without you my friend,
and I'll tell you about it when I see you again
we've come a long way from were we began
oh I'll tell you all about it when I see you again"
The Fast & the Furious movie and Paul Walker fans will definitely love his new cover entitled "see you again" which was originally sung by the American rapper Wiz Khalifa.
The song was indeed great and it really deserves the international success that it has been receiving since it was used as a tribute to Paul Walker.
Moreover, Johann Mendoza, was able to give justice and pull this off and I must say, this guy, really has a lot to offer, and this high range belter is definitely a jack of all trades when it comes to music.
In my opinion, this version had offered a lot more feelings, emotion and empathy and the lyrics is much more believable but the original song was equally great, though this version's rap part is somehow different with the original, I just love how it was delivered. That is how it is, and it was just "wow" and amazing!
Again, for the nth time, I was amazed on how this song was sung by Johann. It was just the right mix of harmony and music. Not too much and definitely not too little on how it is supposed to be, based on how it was originally sung.
Take it from me, he nailed it. I'm very confident and 101% sure that this was one of the best covers of the said song. I just knew, music is not new to me because I also had a background when it comes to notes, rhythm and harmony .
In addition, Johann was able to sing the song uniquely and quintessentially. He just knows how to offer a rhythm that the listeners will definitely love.
Well, with this version of "see you again" song plus a great voice by Johann Mendoza. No doubt that it will surely move a lot of hearts.
This guy definitely has a power to make people come over and hear him sing.
It seems like his voice perfectly matches all sorts of music available in the industry, and I'm basically looking forward for another heartfelt original song from him.
Lastly, Johann Mendoza will be having his concert.
Save the Date: August 7, 2015 (Friday)
Follow Johann Mendoza in Facebook for more updates.
So have you guys ever imagined how will it turn out if bang bang is performed by male artists?
Oh well, these three were not just singers, they were definitely someone to look up to when it comes to music.
Forget about Jessie J, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande for the mean time and make way for the high range belter, Johann Mendoza, RNB Hearthrob, Daryl Ong and King of the Jingle, Daryl "Drey" Reyes.
Undeniably, they nailed the song right?
Anyway, Johann's high range voice is still amazing and of course Daryl Ong's way of capturing listeners is just "wow", Lastly, who wouldn't be amazed with the one and only king of the jingle Drey Reyes and his rapping skills.
I'm one of those who waits for a lot more covers, original music and compositions, and collaborations from these three.
For more updates, subscribe to their pages and youtube channels.
Daryl Ong from "The Voice Ph Season 2" will be having his first solo concert this coming May 22 at Music Museum, visit and like his page for more details.
by the way, you'll be able to hear Daryl's voice singing the theme song of the teleserye: "Bridges of Love" entitled "Ikaw na Nga" and he'll also be releasing his album soon!
Whereas, Johann Mendoza who recently joined a contest in UK will also be having a One Night Jam this coming April 24, 2015. He is also part of Project KC which is a fund raising concert this coming May 10 and another concert in Music Museum.
you might also heard Johann Mendoza singing in 97.9 before.

and lastly, who wouldn't be amazed with Daryl Reyes. I'm pretty sure that you won't end up your day without hearing his voice over the radios and televisions. He sung most of the jingles that is usually being played everyday and everywhere, from emperador light to nescafe and fres.
Honestly, his emperador light jingle was used as an alarm clock at our room and you'll definitely be full of energy 24/7 because of his voice.
"Gawin mong light ang buhay ngayon"
anyway, I was also one of the persons who really miss Daryl "Drey" Reyes performing live.
You might also want to follow him on Instagram: legendarylreyes
I really had fun listening to their version of Bang Bang, hope you guys had fun too!
Cheers to more projects, albums and concerts for these three!
I am definitely not a fifty shader but I must admit that I am hitting the replay button of their OST from Ellie Goulding entitled "Love Me Like You Do"
It has a different beat and collaboration of melody and for me the song takes you to skylines maybe because of how it was used in the movie but it is the perfect song to be used for hot air balloons, planes, zip lines and kites or anything that has something to do with adventure and limits. I just don't know, I've been into video editing several times and I must say the song really fits the scene. I'll post it as soon as I was able to make one.
Moreover, the song was definitely an unconditional love song wherein it is being shown the two sides of a coin and various shades of a person and despite those shades, you'll definitely learn to love even the darkest shade that you may find in a person, basically because you love that person. Well, that's how the first stanza of the song goes.
At some point, you just got to see the other side. I mean the world of the other person. Sometimes you just got to see things from his/her viewpoint. Anything can be beautiful and it is just a matter of distance and space and how you see it.
And as obvious as what the chorus implies, one must learn to love in his own way, the best way that one can fully express his/her feelings is through his/her own way.
Anyway, I just love the beat and here's another version from Joseph Vincent which is different from Ellie Goulding's version but I just love both.
And for the musicians out there, if you want to download the piano sheet of this song for free, here is the link: http://www.mediafire.com/view/ze14008oc5twox2/Love_Me_Like_You_Do_chikkc.pdf

Have you ever encountered a guy who can incredibly reach the highest of high notes?
Well, the Philippine Music Industry has him, a former member of the band Brown Flava, K24/7 and Voices of 5, he is no other than ----- (drum rolls) Mr. Johann Mendoza.
<Photo (c) Johann Mendoza>
Together with his former band mates, he also has a lot to offer in the music industry.
Check out his own version of Beyonce's Listen. I haven't heard any male artist covered this very challenging piece. With all due respect, he is way better than any other "biriteras" who also did a cover of this song.
Another piece that was amazingly covered by sir Johann was Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing.
He is definitely one of the artists who reaches the high notes effortlessly and this kind of artist really deserves a big break in the music industry.
Sir Johann was also able to cover Usher's song, entitled "Can You Help Me" and honestly, it is uniquely different from the original.
And for me, he can wonderfully sing any song thrown at him. I am really looking forward seeing this guy prosper in his singing career because he is definitely a master of his own craft.
Name any song and I am sure enough that he can definitely give justice into it. Here's another cover to be amaze of.
Sir Johann is as good as any other artists which can be heard locally and internationally. Filipinos really do have world-class talents that should be under the lime-light and Johann Mendoza is one of them.
He also has his own version of one of my favorites from Jason Derulo entitled "Marry Me" and believe me, he nailed it!
This guy right here, is definitely a jack of all trades and one of the finest that Philippines has to offer.
And by the way, you might also want to check out his recently released original song entitled "For Better Or For Worse" that was submitted for a competition based in UK.
If you guys would ask me "What would be the sound track of your lovelife?"
I would probably sing Emma Bunton's Take my breath away. it was released on 27 August 2001 in the United Kingdom as the second single from Bunton's debut solo album.
Everytime that I get to see my crush, it feels like this song is playing on background, just like what we use to see in movies and chick flicks. hahaha!
Anyway, this song really has a very nice lyrics and rhythm and I could really relate with what the singer and writer is trying to say.
The lyrics goes like this:
"If I told you how I feel about you would you say the same?
If I wrote it in a letter, would you keep it or throw it away?"
same question running through my mind everytime he's around. It is undeniable that a lot of people get rejected once they confess feelings with the person they love right?
people weren't afraid of saying what they feel but they are more afraid of the reaction or response or maybe there will really be no response at all and the person you love will just walk away and won't show up to you again.
But who knows, he might thinking of the same question whenever you're around and feeling the same feeling. :)
"I'd never thought that I'd feel the way I'm feeling lately when everything you seem to do just drives me crazy"
There's this guy specifically a nurse whom I was able to be with lately at a dialysis center, he was basically not new to me because he was my schoolmate way back college and I have met him during that time. He was very familiar aside from the fact that he is good looking, I would never forget the time he asked for a mask because he badly needs it for a duty in an operating room in a particular hospital at Valenzuela. He was not my type actually but when I finally got the chance to know him, he was really something and it didn't came into my mind that I could possibly like him. :) <3 <3 <3
I was one of those introvert kind of individuals during college so I didn't expect him to remember me during that time that I was taking my training at a dialysis center but fortunately he was able to realize that I'm familiar and that we came from the same school. Isn't it a good sign?
Anyway, going for training everyday became really exciting aside from meeting those kind and jolly patients and learning new things and gaining experience, I always look forward into seeing him even if I'm inches away.
The feeling of being happy and elated and being on a reverie whenever he's around is a kind of feeling that I never imagined to happen. The way he walks, the way he brushes his hair up, the way he wears his glasses, his gestures, the way he talks, the way he smiles and everything in between just makes my heart skip a beat.
In medical term I always tend to feel these when he's around: TACHYCARDIA, DYSPNEA, BRONCHO CONSTRICTION, PREMATURE VENTRICULAR CONTRACTION
sounds like I'm ill right? but No, I think I'm just starting to become more human and feeling the universal feeling of being alive, that I don't know but I definitely love the feeling that I am experiencing whenever he's around.
"Every waking day, you take my breath away, with every word you say, you take my breath away"
Whenever I get the chance to be his partner, I really don't know what to say because he definitely has a lot of things to say, a lot of questions to ask and a lot of stories to tell, so basically I could just listen and control the undefined elated feelings.
We talk about anything under the sun, his goals, the things he like and even the most potent vasoconstrictor, the division of cells, types of dialyzers, the gauge and flow rate of needles but at the end of each I just find myself breathless and just got my eyes nailed on him.
Remembering those times when he asked me about the perfume that I used, where do I live, what are my plans after the training, my ideal guy and why I didn't even have a boyfriend: I have prepared answers for those questions but wasn't able to answer because I was nervous, I'm lost for words and my heart keeps on beating faster than the usual that I just lose track on what am I going to say.
"You look at me that way, baby come what may.
I hope that you'll always know how to take my breath away"
He was this kind of person that looks deep into your eyes and starts to say something and even if he's distance away, I just can't help but to look at him but everytime his eyes meet mine, I just can't help but to keep on wishing that hopefully he feels the same way.
"I don't know the way you feel but boy I'm hoping. I always used to hide away, but now I'm open"
I was the type of person, who refuses to come closer, the one who goes away, stares at him from a distance but if only he knew that he was running on my mind in every spaces between seconds.
Every waking day you take my breath away
with every word you say you take my breath away
you look at me that way, baby come what may
I hope that you'll always know how to take my breath away
Yeah! I
consider myself as one because these guys were really amazing.
I'm
really not into going gigs and listening to boy band music not until I heard
them harmoniously singing along Eton Centris.
These amazing guys
serenades people strolling around the area and you'll probably be surprised on
how they manage to draw people closer to them just by the use of their
wonderful voices.
They are
starting to break grounds in the music industry and their youtube videos were
gaining countless viewers in just a couple of days.
Name a
song and they could probably sing it in a new and a much better
version. Foreign countries have backstreet boys, westlife, one direction, boyz II men and other boy bands but Philippines has a lot more to offer, we have our
very own VOICES of 5.
These guys deserve to
be heard not only in the Philippines but might as well in other countries.
I'd rather hear them
sing rather than listen with the original version of some of their covers.
What
makes them unique was their personality and passion towards their craft.
They were
indeed blessed not only with a very wonderful talent but might as well with a
big heart.
Voices of
5 have already released an album and these includes their own version of
"Mahal Pa Rin Kita" by Rockstar and I must say that they have brought
OPM back to life.
Another video that
have earned a lot of views and shares all throughout social media sites was
their own version of "Maybe This Time" inspired by Sarah
Geronimo and Coco Martin's movie.
And
honestly, these guys deserve to have a big break, if I were to choose a band
that would sing for a particular movie song, Voices of 5 would probably be the
best choice.
Moreover,
Voices of 5 also has an original song dedicated to every Filipino especially
those who were being affected by typhoons and going through a lot of
struggle.
This is another
reason for them to be admired, for they are not only singing because they were
given the ability to sing but they are singing for a cause and for their fellow
countrymen.
Voices of 5 was
honestly a complete package, they have these undeniable wonderful voices,
amicable personalities and a plus factor of good looks and if they happen to do
a flash mob in a public place, they will definitely gain a lot of audience and
I am very sure that people will stop and take videos of these amazing
guys.
The said boyband has
their original compositions which is as good as their other covers and this
original songs will surely gain listeners and stand out.
Ever felt
down and feels like drowning in a sea of problems and downfalls, well this song
from Voices of 5 will surely captivate you not only with the rhyming phrases
and lines but with their harmony and overall impact of the song.
Some says that there
is a low probability for a good singer to be a good dancer too, but Voices of 5
are very much different. Aside from their undeniable talent in singing, these
good looking guys were also good dancers. Watching them perform was like
watching 5 shades of Gary Valenciano or 5 shades of Michael Jackson.
It is
only in the Philippines where you can find this kind of singers which I
consider as rolled into one performers.
And If you are in need
of persons who would perform on your events or gatherings, my favorite singer (VOICES OF 5) will surely be worth it and if you just want to listen to a good
music, you can visit them on their regular gigs around the Metro.
Follow the amazing guys on facebook, instagram, twitter and youtube.
